How To Log Out From New Facebook Messenger Android App

Facebook has released the latest update of its Messenger app for Android. This release covers some major changes in the app interface and features. You can also text your contracts from this app, which makes it replacement of texting.

But Facebook forgot to add something in this new upload. There's no option to Log Out of your account in this new update. Don't worry there's a solution of every problem.

Most of us used to log out of our Facebook accounts from Account settings menu, which will not work in this case. Here's how to log out from this app:

In Gingerbread: Click on Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Find and click on "Messenger" > Click on Clear Data > That's IT!

In ICS & JellyBean: Click on Settings > Apps > Find and click on "Messenger" > Click on Clear Data > That's IT!

How To Embed Facebook Posts To Your Blog

Update (7/9/13):

Facebook recently announced their official plugin to embed public statuses, photos and more. It has more feature than the outdated article version. You can easily get your embed code by visiting this page.

Getting The Embed Code From A Post:

You can also get the embed code directly from the post itself.  Only public posts from Facebook Pages and profiles can be embedded. Choose 'Embed Post' from the drop down menu that appears. You will get the embed code for the post.

Original Article (9/13/13):

There are bunch of Facebook widgets to embed like buttons, like boxes, subscribe buttons, and more. But there is no way to embed a status, photo, link or video directly from Facebook to your blog. Twitter tweets always have an option to easily embed any Tweet to your blog, website, or any html document.

By embedding a status, you can easily display a status on your website, without editing any bit of it. It's really helpful in displaying images on your blog, without uploading them into your blog. It was helpful for me in this post.

How To Embed A Facebook Status:

Tired of taking screen grabs of Facebook posts? SocialDitto makes it easy to embed a Facebook status update into any article or blog. You can easily grab your embed code in less than a minute by visiting SocialDitto. It's free, safe, easy, and quick. Don't forget to leave a comment.

5 Tips For Promoting Your Blog With Facebook

Facebook can help you gain a loyal following for your blog. However, you can’t just put your blog posts on Facebook and expect people to click on your links. You need to use some strategies in order to get lots of clicks.

Have a Good Image:

Facebook relies heavily on images. If your blog post doesn’t have a good image, it will likely get lost in the shuffle. Pick an image that will stand out. Also, make sure it represents your post and will resonate with your core audience. That way, it will get people’s attention and they will click to read the blog.

Interact with Your Audience:

People like to reciprocate. It’s human nature. Thus, if you interact with your fans, they will be more likely to interact with you. With that in mind, you need to take the time to read their status updates and blog posts. Comment and hit the like button from time to time. Then, people will be more apt to check your posts out.

Ask Them What they Want to Learn:

Use Facebook to ask people what they want to learn. You can create polls, or simply ask a question. Once you get some responses, let readers know that you will answer their questions in your next blog post. Then, write a blog that addresses those questions. This will attract a lot of readers. After all, people will love the fact that you created a post just for them.

Be Consistent:

Come up with a posting schedule and follow it. That way, people will know when to expect your blogs. Make sure your schedule is balanced so you don’t overwhelm people with blogs. For instance, you might want to post one to two blogs a week to your Facebook account instead of five. Five blogs will overwhelm Facebook users, but one or two blogs will grab their interest

Be Professional:

Spammers love Facebook. Because of that, it is essential that legitimate blog owners come across as professionals. That means you need a professional domain name. You also need a professional theme. Fortunately, both are easy to get. You can get a professional .com from different companies online. You can also find professional Premium WordPress templates online.

If you use these tips, you will be able to get more traffic to your blog. Then, you can create a solid following of loyal readers. Those readers will stay with you as long as you continue to provide quality content.

How To Post Your Twitter Tweets On Your Facebook Page

Updating multiple social networks at same time is a huge headache. We all use dlvr.it and other websites to automatically publish our blog's feed to social netoworks, but sometimes we just want to post more than just blog feed.

I run a pro-wrestling news website, with a live play-by-play Twitter and Facebook coverage of the shows and pay-per-views. I don't have enough time to most on various social media platforms at the same time, so I use Twitter's build-in feature to automatically publish my tweets on my blog's Facebook Page.

Yup, there is an option on Twitter to publish your tweets on your Facebook page, without any external plugins. It's very easy. Here we go:

Automatically Publish Your Twitter Tweets On Your Facebook Page:

Login to your Twitter account, and visit on Profile Settings. On the bottom of the page, click on Login to Facebook

After logging in, mark Post to my Facebook page option, and choose your Facebook page.

That's it. Replies and direct messages will not be posted on your page. You can also mark post retweets option as well.

How To Activate New Facebook News Feed

Facebook has launched a new news feed design. It was introduced in March 2012, and right now is in BETA testing version. It's inspired by a "newspaper" and looks bit like Facebook's smart phone application. It has a very sleek UI, with a very nice off-canvas menu.

It's very user-friendly, and has lot of option to customize in your own style,You can choose from separate sections for friends, photos, music and other activity and updates. I used it, and it was pretty cool. To be honest, it's not very user-friendly at all, and is very confusing for new users.

How To Activate It:

  • Now click on "Join Waiting List", which is located on the bottom.

Now you're on news feed's waiting list. As it's a beta version, once the waiting list completes you will get a notification on the Facebook Home page to use it. That's it guys!

Enable Reply To Comments Option On Facebook Pages

Facebook have released a new replies to comments feature on Facebook Pages, which is also known as threaded comments.

Tagging other people on comments really sucks (which doesn’t work if you are not "friends" with that person). So, with this feature, you can now reply specifically to their comment, and they will get a notification of it. Almost every Blogger is using this feature on their blog's comment system.

It's a great feature, and I just tested it. As of writing, this feature is only available for brand pages, and you can't use this on your groups or profile, which totally sucks.

How To Enable This Feature:

Pages with over 10,000 "likes" or "Followers" will have this new threaded comments feature automatically enabled. For Pages under 10,000, you need to manually enable it.

To turn on replies for your Page:

  • At the top of your Page, click Edit Page
  • Go to Manage Permissions
  • Select Turn On Replies

People who visit your Page will have the option to reply on posts that were created after you turned on replies.You can learn more about this feature, click here.

Facebook Open Graph Meta Tags For Blogger

The Open Graph protocol enables developers to integrate their pages into the social graph. It works the same way as Twitter Card.

After using Open Graph META tags, Facebook show more detail about your posts to give readers a little preview of what they'll see when they click your link. Adding META tags to your blog to allow links to your site to be more informational when shared. You can learn more about Open Graph Protocol at this link.

Open Graph META Tags:

Before starting this tutorial, let me explain about the properties of META tags. The four required properties for every page are:

  • og:title - The title of the page.
  • og:type - The type of your object, e.g., blog, article, site.
  • og:image - An image URL which should represent your object.
  • og:url - The canonical URL of your object. Make sure that you have uploaded your images from Blogger Post Editor or is hosted on Picasa Web Album.

The following properties are optional for any object and are generally recommended:

  • og:site_name - The title of your blog.
  • og:description - A one to two sentence description of your object.

Optional Open Graph META Tags For Facebook:

These two META tags are option. You can add them to administrate your page from Facebook. To apply these META tags, you need either your Facebook account or your Facebook application ID (or both).

  • fb:admins - Your Facebook profile ID or Username.
  • fb:app_id - The application ID provided by Facebook App.

Adding Open Graph META Tags To Blogger:

Now, I'll show you how to perfectly add these META tags to your blog's template. Don't forget to backup your template.

  • Go To Blogger > Template > Edit HTML > Click on "Proceed"
  • Once you've opened up your template, find the </head> tag in your template's markup. Enter this markup directly above the </head> tag:
<!-- facebook open graph meta tags starts bwidgets.com -->

<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;index&quot;'>
<meta expr:content='data:blog.pageTitle' property='og:title'/>
<meta content='blog' property='og:type'/>
<b:else/>
<meta expr:content='data:blog.pageName' property='og:title'/>
<meta content='article' property='og:type'/>
</b:if>
<meta expr:content='data:blog.canonicalUrl' property='og:url'/>
<meta expr:content='data:blog.title' property='og:site_name'/>
<b:if cond='data:blog.postImageThumbnailUrl'>
<meta expr:content='data:blog.postImageThumbnailUrl' property='og:image'/>
<b:else/>
<meta content='Logo URL' property='og:image'/>
</b:if>
<b:if cond='data:blog.metaDescription != &quot;&quot;'>
<meta expr:content='data:blog.metaDescription' property='og:description'/>
</b:if>
<meta content='App-ID' property='fb:app_id'/>
<meta content='Facebook-profile-ID' property='fb:admins'/>

<!-- facebook open graph meta tags ends bwidgets.com -->

In above code, make following changed:

  • Replace Logo URL with your blog's logo URL.
  • Replace App-ID with your the application ID provided by Facebook App.
  • Replace Facebook-profile-ID with your Facebook profile id or username.

If you don't want to add option Facebook META tags, then you can remove following lines from above code:

<meta content='App-ID' property='fb:app_id'/>
<meta content='Facebook-profile-ID' property='fb:admins'/>

Test Your Markup:

You can test your blog's Open Graph META tags markup by using Facebook's official parser and debugger.

Easiest Way To Make Money From Social Media

There are actually many ways to make money from social media. However, you need a strong fan base to make it work. In this post, we will discuss about some ways, which could help you to earn some money from your social media.

Twitter is a great way for people with same interest to connect and share their ideas and thoughts. You may know some Twitter accounts with some large number of followers. They just tweet funny things and some links. It's hard to accept but they are probably making some big amount of money with their tweets.

Just like them, you can also earn some money with your 140 chars. You may have to tweet, blog, tout, post, upload or pin. Here are some ways to use your social media power:

Social Media Manager:

A social media manager is the person responsible for managing a brand or company’s social media presence. Social media management doesn’t require a lot of education or experience as you may already have the skills to start doing it right now.

A social media manager manages their client's social presence across all the social platforms. As a social media manager, you'll be represent your client across all the social platforms that they intend to use like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest…etc.

It's your duty to interact with your brand's audience, reply them, build social media strategies, keep it clean, and more. I bet that you already know how to do most of the things. According to Mashable.com, a social media manager’s salary could go beyond the $100k mark depending on their location and expertise.

Advertising Products:

If you have a strong fan base then you can also use your social media profile to advertise a client's products or websites. Your client will pay you for tweeting or posting his product on your social networking profile. It could be a tweet, blog post or even a YouTube video.

Get started by contacting local dealers and new websites who want to get out into the market. It's just like putting a banner on your blog. Twitter and YouTube are the best way to advertise your client's products.

You can also promote and recommend certain products or services to your followers. You can also use some pay-per-click services that allows you to earn by tweeting their products.

Affiliate Marketing:

Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's own marketing efforts.

Your affiliate host will provide you with your personal affiliate link. You can always track your link by using url shortening services, such as bit.ly. So whenever a follower clicks on your link, it is considered as a referral on your behalf, and you will get some percentage of that sale.

For example, if someone is asking your advice on the best domain registrar, you can refer them to your domain registrar via your referral link. The amount varies with different affiliate programs.

That's all for this time folks. Remember, you can earn with all above methods but keep it clean and spam free. In some future posts, we will be focusing on Money Blogging.

Customizing Facebook Like Box Widget

The Like Box is a social plugin that enables Facebook Page owners to attract and gain Likes from their own website. Almost every blogger is using bunch of Facebook plugins on their blog, which is the easiest way to attract new fans to your Facebook page.

Don't you just hate that default Facebook like box design, which really sucks with that header and footer. Do you want to remove it? Yupp, Digital Inspiration (Oppa Labnol Style! ) has found an amazing way to customize your simple like boxes with some CSS touch.

So, I found two amazing customized Facebook like boxes from Digital Inspiration, which are really great. Below is an image of default Facebook like box, which is so common.

Default Facebook Like Box:

Now, as you can see in above image, which is an image of default Facebook like box, it really sucks. I guess, it's only for blue and plain sites. However, you can generate your page's like box widget at this link. You'll find millions of like boxes around the internet.

Custom Facebook Like Box Style #1:

Finally, we got rid of that ugly header and footer. Also, you can check a pic of mine in above widget, which is located at first block. Me and Eminem (Photoshop Rocks!!!). Anyways, copy the code below and paste it anywhere inside your blog or website:

<style type="text/css">
 .facebookOuter {
    background-color:#F4F4F4;
    width:250px;
    padding:10px 0 10px 10px;
    height:250px;
    border:1px solid #CCCCCC;
  }
 .facebookInner {
    height:250px;
    overflow:hidden;
  }
</style>

<div class="facebookOuter">
 <div class="facebookInner">
  <div class="fb-like-box"
      data-width="245" data-height="290"
      data-href="http://www.facebook.com/bwidgetz"
      data-border-color="#F4F4F4" data-show-faces="true"
      data-stream="false" data-header="false">
  </div>
 </div>
</div>

<div id="fb-root"></div>

<script>(function(d, s, id) {
  var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
  if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
  js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;
  js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1";
  fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
</script>

 Replace bwidgetz with your Facebook page's username.

Custom Facebook Like Box Style #2:

This one is even more better. As you can see in above image, this widget is customized very well with some beautiful CSS. Also, you can again see an image of mine with Eminem :p

Finally, it's time to share code of this beautiful like box. Copy the code below and paste it anywhere inside your blog or website:

<style>
.facebookOuter {
width: 280px;
height: 150px;
border-radius: 3px;
position: relative;
background-color:#f4f4f4;
padding:5px 10px 15px 0;
}
.facebookOuter, .facebookOuter:before, .facebookOuter:after {
background: #f4f4f4;
border: 1px solid #ccc;
}
.facebookOuter:before, .facebookOuter:after {
content: "";
position: absolute;
bottom: -3px;
left: 2px;
right: 2px;
height: 1px;
border-top: none;
}
.facebookOuter:after {
left: 4px;
right: 4px;
bottom: -5px;
box-shadow: 0 0 2px #ccc;
}
.facebookInner {
height:155px;
overflow:hidden;
}
</style>

<div class="facebookOuter" style="float:left;">
<div class="facebookInner">
  <div class="fb-like-box"
      data-width="300" data-height="179"
      data-href="http://www.facebook.com/bwidgetz"
      data-border-color="#F4F4F4" data-show-faces="true"
      data-stream="false" data-header="false">
  </div>
 </div>
</div>
<div id="fb-root"></div>
<script>(function(d, s, id) {
var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;
js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1";
fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
</script>
Replace bwidgetz with your Facebook page's username.

More Customization:

The default background color of both Facebook Like boxes is #F4F4F4 but you can use any other web color. Also, if you want to have a more wider or taller Like box for your website, you can need to change the width and height values. All credits on this amazing work goes to Digital Inspiration.

Also, I used Purple Purse fonts on images for this article. Don't forget to leave your comments...

Facebook Introduces Two New Features

Facebook has announced two new features and in my opinion these are one of the best features of the year. It's Christmas time and i guess this is a Christmas gift for us. Now let's talk above these two new features.

Multiple Photos On Status

Now you can upload more than one pic on your Facebook status. If you want  to post your tour, favorite celebs and more than now you can upload them on one single status instead of creating an album.

As you can see in above picture that i have uploaded two pictures in one status (And also that I'am a WWE Fan) and you can upload more photos in it. Just click on that + sign and upload more. After posting your status your pictures will look something like:

Now as you can see in above picture my profile pic is a Black Dot and let me tell you why. In Delhi last Sunday a girl was rapped and all Indians are demanding justice and security for her and for other girls by changing their profile pic to a Black Dot.

Privacy Shortcuts

Also Facebook has a new privacy shortcut option in it's menu. Where you can control "Who can see my stuff?" , "Who can contact me?" and "How do i stop someone from bothering me?" . You can control all your privacy under this option.

That's it for now and hopefully i except that Facebook will launch more new features in 2013 and also i wish you a very Happy Holidays!!

Adding Facebook Comment Box To Blogger

In this tutorial, I'll show how to add Facebook comment box on your blog, which is a great way to receive more comments.

  • Go To Blogger > Template > Edit HTML > Tick expand widget template.
  • Now Find this code in your html by pressing Ctrl + f:

<data:post.body/>

  • Copy this code  and paste it below the code above:

<h3>Post Comment</h3>
<div id='fb-root'/><script src='http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1'/><fb:comments expr:href='data:post.url' num_posts='5' width='500'/>

Now you can see Facebook comment box in post pages only.You can change number of comments to show by changing num_posts='5' to your preferred number of posts. And you can also change width of the box by changing width='500'/> with your preferred width....Enjoy
